Building the skills that power
Europe’s knowledge transfer.
Skills4Valorisation is a three-year Horizon Europe project designed to strengthen the skills and
services of Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office professionals working in universities
and research organisations across Europe.
Map & Benchmark
Map and benchmark KTO/TTO practices across Europe to identify gaps and opportunities.
Train & Equip
Train and equip KTO/TTO staff and build a dedicated European community of practice.
Fund Pilots
Fund 20 pilot projects through cascade funding to test upgraded KTO/TTO services and university–industry valorisation pilots, funding practical collaboration between academia and companies.
Inform Policy
Strengthen knowledge valorisation policy at the EU level through evidence and advocacy.
We bring Europe’s research
closer to society.
Skills4Valorisation directly contributes to the ERA Policy Agenda’s Action 7 supporting
an ecosystem where KTO/TTO professionals are professionalised, well-resourced and
equally strong across all EU regions.
Five goals. One mission.
Skills4Valorisation works towards five core goals: increasing the reach of knowledge
valorisation policies across Europe, upskilling KTO/TTO staff through targeted training,
funding pilot projects through a dedicated FSTP mechanism, building a more inclusive
knowledge valorisation ecosystem, and creating synergies with other ERA-funded
initiatives.
Increase reach
Ensure broad take-up of ERA knowledge valorisation results through training, toolkits and peer learning across the R&I ecosystem.
Upskill KTO/TTO staff
Expand and strengthen KTO/TTO capacities through targeted training, peer learning and workshops across Europe.
Fund pilot projects
Support institutions to test project outputs through two open calls — Service Upgrade Pilots and University-Industry Valorisation Pilots — via a Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP) mechanism.
Support inclusivity
Embed gender equality and inclusive practices across all activities, training and pilots to close the gender gap in knowledge valorisation.
Create synergies
Coordinate with ERA-funded projects, engage stakeholder communities and ensure open access and long-term uptake of results.
